Seddon Shares Ellen White with Melbourne’s West

Kaylah Draganovic / IntraVic Staff

Seddon SDA Church is one step closer to producing the next generation of literature evangelists, with some of their youngest members handing out copies of Ellen G White’s Steps to Christ and The Great Controversy around Altona Beach, Footscray Station, and Williamstown Botanical Gardens.

On the first Sabbath of every month, the church’s youth—ranging from 8 to 16 years old—work alongside their more experienced mentors to connect with the community.

This is what 13-year-old Kayah had to say about her experience:

“On the afternoon of August 6th, we took up our books and headed out to various locations in Melbourne. My group chose to go to Footscray Station, and we’re lucky enough to have Pastor Miroslav Gagic and Nino Svonja with us.

Being most of my group's first time handing out books, we were all a little nervous. But Nino encouraged us to try our best and not to feel down if someone said no because there were always more people who were willing to take a book.

Once the first train arrived and loads of people were flooding onto the platform, we worked up the courage to ask people. Each of us held 10 books, and by the time my friend Olivia and I handed out four books each, the boys had already finished their stacks and were ready to collect more from the car. We became so confident with our outreach that Pastor Miroslav had to go back to the church to pick up more books!

About 200 books were handed out at that station that day. We are glad that we could distribute so many books within a few hours, and we are excited about the hope it will bring to many lives. We can’t wait for the next time we can do this again!”
