Gippsland Muster: Horses and the Holy Word

On the 29th of June, over 80 people braved the gripping Gippsland cold and made their way to the Tonimbuk Equestrian Centre for an incredibly unique service.
Pastor Brett Townend, the President of the South Queensland Conference, presented a Gospel message straight from the horse’s mouth. As he spoke, he drew out object lessons from his experience with horses - like breaking the horse in, developing a bond and trust, and discipline and correction.
We learned that God treats us much like the way you train a horse. By establishing trust and removing fear, the horse will eventually go wherever the master sends.
After the service, we finished up the night with a BBQ dinner. We were fortunate to have an indoor venue for this, as the rain continued long into the night.
Huge thank you to everyone who came along, and those who were involved with making it happen. A special thank you to those at Leongatha SDA Church, who played a huge part in running the night, and staying late to pack it up.
Our next Muster event is set for September 2024. We hope to see you there!
