Victorian Young Adults Games Night

Avish Rao

On the 15th of June, young adults from churches all around Victoria came to close Sabbath at Nunawading church.

Pr. Jonathas Newlands shared a great message about “How to manage burnout”, and pointed us to the Bible for advice and council, which was a blessing for many.

We were then divided into teams to participate in a series of fast-paced, engaging, fun-filled games to get everyone socialising.

Special mention goes to the delicious food, including fresh hot jam donuts prepared onsite, served and thoroughly enjoyed.

This event was an opportunity to put into action the very reason VicYA was formed, bridging the gap this particular cohort so commonly experiences. The church was filled with the laughter of people who quickly went from strangers to friends.

Victorian Young Adults (VicYA) advisory team consists of 6 members from different churches, with a common goal of creating a safe and interactive space.

The focus is on connection, community and intentional time spent with others, nurturing each other’s growth, walking with God, and journeying through life as believers, seeking and non-believers alike through worship, discussions, small groups, activities, and simple but impactful shared moments.
